Our April meeting will NOT be at the usual time. Rather, join us in a collaborative project with Reimagine Redditch to Have A Go at Astronomy.
On Saturday April 13th we will be hosting the mobile planetarium of Warwick University. Enjoy 30 minute talks about the night sky without getting cold!
At the same time try your hand at Astronomy themed Poetry with Dan Simpson, a poet and spoken word artist, who makes contemporary work that is engaging, thoughtful, and responsive. Previously the poet in residence of Kielder Observatory, Dan will be available to help you get inspired by the night sky and the planetarium shows to create your own poems.
Society members will be available to answer questions about how to get involved, where to observe the night sky locally and, if the weather is good, set up some telescopes to have a go.
The event runs from 1 until 5pm at the Windmill Community Centre with hands-on observing after the event, running as long as the weather permits.
