Who can join?

Anyone with an interest in astronomy. Our members include complete beginners, experienced visual observers and keen astrophotographers from Redditch, Bromsgrove and the surrounding area. You don't need to own a telescope.

Why join?

What happens at meetings?

We usually meet on the first Tuesday of each month (except August) from 7pm to 9pm. A typical meeting is a talk by a guest speaker or a member, with time for questions and chatting over astronomy. Some evenings are practical workshops, member evenings or social nights, and when the sky is clear we may head out to observe.

New to astronomy?

You will be in good company. Nobody expects you to know the constellations or the jargon, and members are always happy to answer questions. Our Getting Started guide is a good place to begin.

Membership arrangements and fees

Membership costs £25 per year. The membership year runs from our Annual General Meeting in February, and if you join part-way through the year the fee is reduced pro rata.

When you join, we keep a simple record of your membership. For fire safety, we also record the names of everyone attending each meeting. See our privacy notice for how we handle this information.
